I have become obsessed with coffee table books...Not only because they look fantastic and add personality to any space. They also really let you know the kind of home you're in.
At my house they are almost all about beach life, dogs and design. At my girlfriend Summer Sanders house, they're all inspirational and motivational (I'm missing Olympian DNA clearly).
From fashion to surfing, whatever speaks to you and gives your home that pop of personality it might be missing with some of my favorite coffee table books below (BONUS...ALL these ship free on amazon prime...so woohoo!)
New Year. New You!
Ok, maybe that's not totally realistic, but a more organized you is always a good idea! This is the time of year where you should clear all the things out of your space that aren't serving you...Old clothes, old shoes, old relationships... Just kidding, I'm not sure Goodwill will take the last one.
Here's my go to steps for clutter clearing:
- ONE ROOM AT A TIME-
- Don't tackle your whole house at one time, first of all you'll get overwhelmed freak out and go to Target and buy a bunch of things you don't have the room for yet.
- You'll also feel so much more accomplished when you can cross one room off your list as done!
- ENLIST A CLUTTER BUDDY-
- Call that one friend that will tell you the truth about everything, and has your back and won't let you sidetrack off into an abyss that is your snow globe collection and let you justify keeping all of your old cheerleading uniforms from high school...(where did I think I was going to wear those again?)
- You need this friend to help you do the most important part of decluttering...KEEP IT MOVING. When you are alone you tend to get sidetracked and never finish the task at hand.
- Most great Clutter Buddies do accept wine or dinner as payment so this usually works in your favor.
- KEEP / SELL / DONATE-
- These are the 3 things you ask yourself as you look at every item you are going through.
- These are the 3 bins/ boxes/ piles you will create to put in every item that you go through.
- As soon as you've gone through all of your items then you will move the them to exactly these places ASAP
- KNOW WHERE TO SELL YOUR STUFF-

It is finally cool enough in Los Angeles to wear booties, and thank goodness!! I've found some great deals and they're all under $50 and most are free shipping! So go ahead y'all go shop your booties off!! See what I did there?!
Y'ALL THE HOLIDAYS ARE HERE!!! I'M SO TICKLED I CAN'T TAKE IT!
Sorry I yelled that, but I really am excited! I know we're all running around everywhere with parties, shopping and merriment to make, and we rarely take a minute to slow down and take care of ourselves. I know I spend the better part of my day in workout clothes (to look like I'm always headed to a workout) and I don't take the time to just to something a little festive to add that punch to an outfit.
SO, I've decided I'm getting festive when I can, by throwing on a fest and comfortable pair of shoes... For me that's a great pair of heels! I love a holiday heel and here are some of my favorites right now starting at $35. The pair I have on here are from Target!!! Happy Holidays and I'm so excited to take some time and enjoy them this year!
I love the holidays soooo much and I love when I can take a break from hosting and actually go to my friends and family's homes to celebrate...I'm also the best person to have on the clean up committee post festivities!
Being the true southerner that I am, I was raised that you never show up ANYWHERE emptied handed, and going to anyone's home over the holidays it's really important to bring a gift to say thank you for having me. (if you weren't raised this way, start now please) from a great bottle of wine, to a candle that makes everything smell magical. I love to gift things that people will actual use all year round.
Here's a few of my favorites that are awesome and of course are a bargain, and cover my 3 F's for life...FIERCE FABULOUS & FRUGAL!
HOSTESS GIFTS THAT I LOVE!
I LOVE A BOMBER JACKET! Sorry I screamed that, but I do! You can dress them up or dress them down, and now they're not just cut for guys anymore...Better yet I've rounded up some of my favorites and most of them are under $40! Did you hear me?? $40.00 Go get your bomber on!!
PS. I also posted my favorite Madewell T Shirt that's on sale at Nordstrom Rack and booties I'm wearing too!
When I was little my family told me that Halloween was a night where kids that were healthy and able could dress up and head out and "trick or treat" for kids that weren't able too and then we were allowed to keep 10 pieces and then we made individual bags up to take to the hospitals the next day to handle out to the kids that we're able to go out the night before. I believed this was the reason for Halloween...Until I was 10 years old
I went over to my girlfriends house the day after Halloween and she pulled a GIANT pillowcase out of the back of her closet and dumped it on the floor and it had to be 15 pounds of candy! I couldn't believe she kept all this candy from the kids at the hospital!!!! What was she thinking!!! I asked her why she did that, and she of course had no idea what I was talking about and told me to grab whatever pieces of candy I wanted while she went to get her Mom to explain to me that this wasn't what Halloween was about.
I sat there on the floor of her bedroom staring at all that candy and started wondering what else wasn't real! I mean, I could have been stockpiling candy all this time!!! As I scanned all the candy I saw one with a coconut and a palm tree on it and I thought that looked super cool it was called an ALMOND JOY that sounds so fun and happy, and also a palm tree was on it! (I'd never seen a palm tree in real life at this point in my 10 years of life, and I thought they were so magical...I still do!) As I started chewing it, it tasted so amazing and then all of a sudden I was having trouble swallowing and I couldn't exhale, but I wasn't choking. I was so scared, I thought this was God punishing me for eating the sick children's candy, I looked up and saw my friend's Mom coming towards me with sheer panic on her face. I remember she kept trying to pat me on the back thinking she'd lodge something free, but there was nothing stuck...I was for SURE being punished for eating the candy. Then the next thing remember was being stabbed in the leg with what I know now is an Epipen. In that instant we learned I was allergic to nuts. Luckily, I've grown out of my allergy over the years, but I am always very aware how this can make anyone feel...So This year we're doing Halloween a little differently!
. I recently became aware of the Teal Pumpkin Project. I have nieces and nephews that have food allergies and I love that they now have the option to enjoy Halloween just like their non food allergic friends. You can post this awesome sign in your yard to let the parents and kids know your house is a safe house for allergy free treats!

I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!!
Sorry I screamed that! I just get so excited for this time of year! Every year in we have a chili cook-off with our neighbors and we bring all our patio furniture out to our driveway and pass out candy from there all night! SO, we set a super fun table (remember we've got a full house of furniture now in my driveway, it's so southern of me!) This year I thought I'd kick our table scape up a notch with a fun ice bucket for our wine!

I don't know if y'all are like me, but when I walk into Target unattended....I go in for toilet paper and come out $300 later and forgot to buy the darn toilet paper!! I truly need a Target support team to get me in and out of there with out killin' me!

It is no secret my undying love for coffee. If you follow me on Instagram, (you better be!!) more specifically my Insta Stories then you know I love a starting my day with a cup of caffeinated magic and an equally fun mug to enjoy it in!! Here are some of my favorite mugs that are a total bargain and my favorite coffee makers that are worth the investment!
Y'ALL I LOVE A NACHO!
There, I said it! I crave junky food just as much as the next person, but I will say eating plant based and clean has made so many cravings change for me. I used to be a sugarholic, (I've never met a cupcake I didn't like) But now I crave sugar in the form of fruit and of course wine... let's be honest!
One thing I'll never quit is my love of Mexican food, and a good nachos are on top of that list! So I've figured out a plant based nacho that I believe is out of this world and even the pickiest of meat eaters wouldn't know the difference! Please let me know if you make and what you think!
WHAT YOU NEED
1 bag of Siete Grain Free Tortilla Chips or any Tortilla Chip that you love!
1 cup of Dairy free Cheese I love Daiya Cheddar Style Sherds
1 container of Pico De Gallo
1 container of Guacamole
2 Tbsp of Vegan sour cream
1/4 cup of torn Cilantro
1/3 cup of green scallions
WHAT TO DO:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees
Then place the full bag of tortilla ships on an oven safe plate, and add the Dairy free cheese. (feel free to use more than a cup if so desired)
**Please note that Dairy Free cheese in general take a bit longer to melt than traditional cheeses. (around 10 to 15 minutes to melt but please keep an eye on the chips so they don't burn)
Then pull the nachos out of oven. PRO TIP: If you would like to transfer the chips and cheese to a room temp plate, feel free too. (I always do so guests don't burn themselves)
Next, layer on the Pico De Gallo I spoon it on generously all over the chips. Then, add a scoop of guacamole and a scoop of sour cream. I then sprinkle the cilantro and diced scallions and you've got some yummy plant based nachos!
I've gone Hollywood y'all!! I'm KIDDING!!! If you've been following my story on Social Media, I watched the documentary WHAT THE HEALTH on the 4th of July (after eating my weight in bacon wrapped hot dogs...Keepin' it all the way real. And needless to say it changed my life. So here I am more than 60 days later living that plant based life. I feel better, I have more energy and my skin is clear as can be. I know it's not for everyone, but it's working for me!
The first thing people say when I tell them I'm not ingesting anything animal based (No Dairy, Eggs, Meat, Poultry or Fish) They roll their eyes and go, oh I need so much protein, I can't do that. The irony is, I'm eating more plant based protein now, than I did when I was eating meats/fish So I thought I'd show y'all some of my favorite products that make me keep full and fabulous! (I'm not a spokesperson for any of these products, I just really dig them!)
I LOVE 4TH of July! I feel like summer has truly started when we get to celebrate with BBQ's and fireworks! I also love all the fun food that goes with it, that doesn't take all day to make! Here are recipes for two of my favorites that scream 4th of July!! My Stars and Stripes Fruit wands and my Celebration Popcorn.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED!
1 Bag of Mini White Marshmallows
1 Large container of Blueberries
1 Large Watermelon
1 package of wooden skewers
1 Medium Star Shaped Cookie Cutter
Take your wood skewers and start alternating piercing the blueberries and marshmallows onto the skewer all the way up leaving about an inch and a 1/2 of space for you to finish the wand with your watermelon star.
Then slice your watermelon into triangles and use your star cookie cutter, and press down firmly to get your watermelon star. Then gently press into the top of the Blueberry and Marshmallow sticks and Enjoy!
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
1 bag of white popcorn kernels or 2 bags of microwave popcorn
1 package of white chocolate Candy Melts
1 container of Red, White and Blue Sprinkles
1 package of Treat Cups
- Pop your popcorn and set aside.
- Then take the package of Candy Melts and following the microwave melting instructions. (I like to melt mine in a glass bowl, I find it easier to pour out after it's melted.)
- Take the Popcorn and put it in a container that has a lid so that you will be able to shake it with the white chocolate.
- Once the white chocolate is melted I drizzle it into the popcorn that is in the container. Please do it sparingly it goes a LONG way! I pour about 1/2 in and then put the lid back on and shake up the popcorn and the white chocolate so it gets an even coating.
- Then I hand form treat balls to put into the mini treat cups
- finish with sprinkles
- I like to serve it room temperature. you can also refrigerate and serve later.
When I get to enjoy my favorite beverage, Coffee. In my favorite place, Hawaii. Then clearly it needs to be celebrated and documented. Here are my top 5 (in no specific order) of must stop coffee shops. ** I have never been to the big island that is the only reason they aren't on there!
This out of the way family owned market on the east side of Oahu is a popular stop with the locals and travelers alike. There are 2 locations in Kailua I prefer the one by Kailua Beach Park it's got that original country store feel and make a mean Americano.
From the Moment you walk in ARVO you feel like you found your new neighborhood spot that that its in a shared space with PAIKO Botanical Boutique (which will be it's own blog later I promise) and MILO a Surf Boutique. It's laid back atmosphere coupled with its equally aloha vibed staff. From their Chia pudding to their amazing Avocado toast there's just about anything you're craving to go with your coffee... I have had many there, but the lavender coconut milk latte is my jam. Check them out you won't be disappointed!
